The new Institute will be housed at the University's Morningside Campus with sites and laboratories in the S.W. Mudd Building and Columbia's new Northwest Corner Building (at right) devoted to interdisciplinary science and engineering. The Institute will also have a site in the Mary Woodward Lasker Building, located at the University's Medical Center in Washington Heights. This new space will enable Columbia to continue to attract the highest quality faculty to the School of Engineering and Applied Science and its partner schools, expand its research base, and enhance the education of New York City's future data scientists and engineers. Ultimately, the Institute for Data Sciences and Engineering will have additional space to flourish in a new building, to be located on the University's new campus site in Manhattanville.
