NIH & NSF Policies

In addition to the federal Circulars which govern all federal projects, many federal sponsors, in addition to non-federal organizations, have their own agency-specific requirements.  It is the responsibility of PIs and administrative staff to be familiar with those requirements.  Given the large proportion of project support from the NIH and NSF, the links below direct you to the policies of those two agencies.

January, 2013 - This new version will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after February 24, 2014. The new Guide can be found here:

10/4/2012 - NSF issues a revised Proposal & Award Policies & Procedures Guide (PAPPG).  This new version of the PAPPG will be effective for proposals submitted, or due, on or after January 14, 2013. The new Guide can be found here:

9/24/2012 -  NIH announces the publication of the revised NIH Grants Policy Statement (NIHGPS, rev. 10/1/2012).  This revision is applicable to all NIH grants and cooperative agreements with budget periods beginning on or after October 1, 2012.
